You just say to yourself “this is what I want” then it happens. Nope. Its not that easy.
What is that saying?
A goal without a plan is just a dream.
I think I got that right.
It is so easy to find yourself caught up in what doesn’t matter. The stuff that doesn’t deserve your invaluable brain space.
I promise you will not find yourself in a goal achieving mindset engaging with the nonsense that does not deserve your brain space. Period.
Set your goal. Break it into bite size action items. My goal today = I wanted to get a close up picture of this tree.Work through your bite size action items. To apply to this really simple analogy. Dress for the weather, put your hood up, keep your eye on the prize. This lonely tree was begging for a picture.
I am a planner. I am a high achiever. When I have stuff clouding my brain space my plans become muddied and my goals skewed. I know this but its so hard to let the small stuff go. I get it completely.
Enjoy the achievement. Humbly. This photo was quite a long lunchtime stroll against cold wind. But I got my shot and was able to publish my first photo series on instagram. @hollyshustlephotos
My challenge for tonight is to
Set clear action items (bite size ones) with timelines to fulfil my student duties. Because Im not meeting my own expectations ATM.
Develop a 6 month goal, 1 year goal, 5 year goal and 10 year goal AND think of some objectives (for family/ career and personal) and action steps to meet those objectives.
I am going to set deadlines and start to hold myself accountable.
I believe in bucket-filling (a little twist on the bucket list). I want a platform to share my artform(s) that already fill my bucket. I have the degree(s). I survived the young child rearing years. I've landed the leadership dream job. It's time to fill my bucket. Focus on what lights my fire. Rebranding this blog (yet again) to meet me where I am at in this journey called life. I will share my creative writing. I will share my photography. I will share my thoughts on this crazy journey we call life. I like to keep it real. I refuse to live up to "the image". I don't use filters. What you see (read) is what you get. I hope you enjoy the read and I will try to balance what I share in a meaningful way. Ultimately, I keep this blog for me. You (my imagined audience) are an awesome bonus!

I write a list, then prioritise them, achieve what I can and try to accept what I can’t achieve, then repeat!
