Let me.

If you could make your pet understand one thing, what would it be?

I have a German Shepard named Hank! I’m his person. He guards me to a fault.

Blake tells me he will lay in our bedroom when I go to bed at night and leave only when he joins me later on.

He is guarding me.

He stares at me while I pee.

God forbid I get a bath: Hank stares at me the entire time I am in the tub. Thankfully he stopped trying to climb in with me.

He is smart. He is intuitive, loyal, protective, a typical velcro-pup. I often tease I should have called him Shadow.

I wish Hank understood that I need him as much as he needs me.

I crave his unwavering welcome every day. Noone else is that excited to see me when I get home 😆.

I am literally never lonely. Like ever.

There is something therapeutic about snuggling with your doggy after a tpugh day in the office.

And, he motivates me to walk daily. Rain or shine. He needs the exercise (and frankly so do I).

So for the answer to today’s writing prompt: I wish (I hope) Hank knows how much I need him. 🐕

“Snuggles with mom” – Hank

  1. Laughed about the bath thing. I have three dogs and whenever they’re “doing their business” outside…if I happen to look at them, I get The Stare… “Uh…a little privacy, please?” 😂
