List five things you do for fun.
HA let me start by saying I love my family dearly and know (someday) I will miss the chaos.
My morning typically start with a visit to my local gym at the crack of dawn. Like before my son, who has no idea what sleeping in means, gets up. π₯± I do this for me. I am not sure I would say ‘I do it for fun’. It’s more because I am pushing 40 and my body isn’t cooperating anymore and my pants feel snug.
I get the kiddos off to the bus, feed the dog, drive to work. Sometimes I do a little laundry swap before I leave the house so there is a load ready to fold when I get home.
I never do fold the load of laundry. I collectΒ clean loads of laundry to ensure I effectively waste any (and all) spare time I might have during the weekend.
After work I taxi thing 1 to cheer & ball and thing 2 to basketball. Effectively 5 to 6 days in the week there is a scheduled activity. I walk the furbaby.
Except Tuesday. Tuesdays are mine and have been for over 2 years. It is incredible I haven’t run into a conflict yet. I volunteer with a local nonprofit and serve the homeless encampments in my community. Again, although extremely rewarding and an important part of my life, I am not sure I would necessarily say I do it for fun.
Although I dont have time to engage in my hobbies regularly, what I would call “for fun” activities
Hanging out with my homegirls. We have been besties for over 30 years.
Date nights with my hubby. My favorite dates are when we try something new like go to the local DIY studio or make homemade sushi together.
Love reading. I definately am usually reading something (fiction, professional development, autobiography). Love audible. Listening to “The Let Them Theory” by Mel Robins right now. Always listen while I walk Hank.
Writing. I go through ebbs and flows. Sometimes I write everyday and sometimes I dont. Im all signed up for a writing course this winter and Im excited to reignite the passion.
Photography. Similar habits to writing. Ill be obsessed for months then wont reach for my camera for months.
I think how engaged I am in these activities that fill my bucket are a direct reflection of my current mental wellness.
What do you think?
