What are you good at?
Advocating for my kids in school, sports and life. You see, they both wear bilateral hearing aids. There is so much ignorance around hearing loss. Even with hearing aids, the wind can make it hard to hear people because of the added amplification of the wind noise. Are they ‘not listening’ or is it that they cannot hear you? Are you talking to them with your back to them?
My patients. I am a nurse and work with people who use drugs and struggle with mental illness. There is so much stigma and discrimination this population of people face. Sometimes when their voice is silenced it is our job to speak up.
For myself. I know what I bring to the table as a friend, employee & family member. I won’t be treated less than. Know your worth.
